Membership

  • Applications
    • When a new agent wishes to join the board, he/she must fill out an application for membership.  Please have the agent read over the application to make sure all required information is provided, and the correct fees are submitted.  Please include a legible copy of the agent’s 45 day permit sponsor card .   You can mail the application for membership to 450 Skokie Blvd Bldg 1200, Northbrook, IL  60062.  You can also fax the application, sponsor card, and fees to (847) 480-7362, ATTN: MEMBERSHIP.  You can also apply online!

      A Letter of Good Standing is required for all transferring agents when transferring from board to board.  Please have the former board of Realtors forward the Letter of Good Standing to the Barrington office when applying for membership.  This will expedite the application process for the agent.

      SUPRA – All SUPRA equipment is now leased and board-specific.  When transferring boards, it is necessary to return all SUPRA equipment to the board you are leaving and obtain a cancellation letter from that board.  Agents then come to either of NSBAR Offices, with cancellation letter, to lease a Display key through us, your new board.  Please note application and fees, with Letter of Good Standing MUST be received and processed PRIOR to any issuance of SUPRA equipment.

      If we fax or mail and up-to-date application  please discard the out-of-date application.  If you use it you risk delaying the REALTORS® membership because of incorrect fees.   

      Have brand new agents that need to attend Star Track Orientation  register before attending.  The day of Star Track Orientation is always busy and confusing for new agents. 

      If you do not want to explain the fees to the agent, have them contact Kim to explain MLC and Board fees.  They will not be as upset if they are explained prior to receiving bills.   

  • Terminating
    • Fax or mail in the signed-off license to notify NSBAR of an agent leaving your office.  
  • OBRE 
    • 45-Day Permit retain one for the Firm’s records, one for the Employee and send the Original to IDFPR.  
    • 1-New Sponsoring Broker:
      • Prepare 45-day permit Send by, certified mail; return receipt requested, or any service requiring a signature, an original of 45-Day Permit along with a valid license and $25.00 to IDFPR within 24 hours of issuance of the permit.  A copy is to be kept for Broker’s file and one copy given to licensee. It is a violation of the License law for any broker to issue a sponsor card to any licensee or applicant unless the licensee or applicant presents a valid license or other authorization as provided by the rule. 
    • 2-Terminating Broker
    • Broker signs off on license and gives it to departing licensee. Sponsoring broker will send to IDFPR a copy of the license within 2 days of the termination and notify IDFPR in writing of the termination. If the sponsoring broker fails to surrender the license Broker will be subject to discipline under Section 20-20. Immediately upon termination the license of the licensee becomes inoperative unless licensee becomes associated with a new sponsoring broker.

  • Put my listing back on the market - call the Tech Dept. 847-480-7177 
  • I just entered a new listing and the price is wrong.  Answer:  Stop!  Don't do anything else!  Call us and we can make the change for you.  If you make the change then it will NEVER say new again! 
  • Is the computer down?  Call the Tech Dept. 847-480-7177
    • First see if your internet is working.  Try to pull up any website you have never been to before, eg. http://www.yahoo.com . If that comes up then at least we know your lines are working. 
  • Can my secretary have their own number?  Answer:  Id numbers assigned to secretaries are the office number and S1 (4901S1).  Additional secretary numbers cost the current MLSNI quarterly fee. 
  • I have a MLSNI photo problem.  Answer:  call MLSNI 630-955-0011
